Ornatrix C4D Video Tutorials.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

I have been breaking apart Ornatrix over last couple of week, and started to make some videos to get you into Ornatrix.  I will be doing a video review soon to give non users a peek into what its all about.  Iv been learning the tools functionalities which in itself does not mean you know how to use the tools well, just what they do.  Iv put what i've learnt so far into practice and here is my first groom, much more to come.

This is my second groom with Ornatrix for C4D.  I will describe the process, and things I could have done better during this exercise.

    Groom Goal:

To make a hair style for a man that was very controlled, not loose and organic.

Manual guide placement, control maps for length, and distribution.  This was my second attempt at this style the first attempt I used Guides from mesh which distributes hair evenly over the scalp.  I also used a slightly tweaked map for distribution.  Black = no hair White = Hair, all values between will produce more or less hair.  I used a thin black line where I wanted the parting.  The hair used multiple operator stacks which offer more complex styles and control.  I done very little direct grooming, most of this is procedural. I did make use of the feature that allows you to directly groom the hair, this is where Ornatrix offers a significant advantage for fine tuning styles.  The video below gives a overview of this project.
