Dynamic Conveyor ?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi,

I am using splinewrap to make a conveyor belt to move pruducts on.

The belt in is in the shape of the number "5"

Tried to use the dynamic tags to stick the products on while the belt moves.

Somebody any idea?

File attached.

Heres a way you could cheat it using a cloner to clone onto the spline and then use Rate parameter in cloner for movement, however this separates that movement from the conveyer, so you would have to match those with any texture movement on the belt itself.

Its difficult to clone onto the actual belt as it has so many polys its hard to place the clone.

I imagine there are quite a few ways to solve this so you may get some other answers / options.

  • Thanks Deck for the reply and example.

I want to achieve the products fall from the one belt to the other.

I think you can use dynamics for this, but you may need some additional collider bodies which are invisible to render to keep everything in the right place...

You should also optimize your belt geo so it is not so needlessly dense, which will seriously up dynamic calculation times. Other than that it'll be all about setting the correct collision modes on things...
