Remove N-gon command

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

What are the requirements for the 'Remove n-gon' command to trigger? It seems a crapshoot to me whether or not it will remove n-gon lines and convert to edges. There must be some criteria that I am not seeing?

Thanks

Could you upload an example a of a scene containing an object that doesn't de-ngon-ize as you expect ?

Something like this?

ngontest.c4d

I would expect that I can make the command and all the green lines would turn blue so I can start cleanup.

Ok, cheers. That issue is fixed in R21 and above. Here's my result after calling that command...

Unfortunately I do not have any information about if or when that will be fixed in your version.

Thanks for your help. Not like Cinema to have such a flaky response in a tool, wonder why it took them so long to fix.

I think it would have been addressed when that tool was moved to the new core around that time... so perhaps, knowing that was coming, they didn't feel a great need to fix it before that ?

I guess it speaks well of C4D that I never once considered it would be a bug 🙂
