Amazing Technique

Recommended Posts

A twitter user posted an amazing technique to smoothly join separate pieces of intersecting geometry.

I understand he uses a Houdini Digital Asset (HDA) inside C4D to somehow blend the normals.

Can anyone provide some more insight into this? I cannot find more information on it.

Thats very cool. Would like to see the wireframe and topology after mesh is blended. Thanks for sharing! :cowboypistol:

In gamedev such shaders are used, its probably the same. On untextured it looks the best but still pretty decent with textures

Should be possible with the C4D shader graph

Search for mesh blending shader

Are we talking about the hand and the wrist coming together in the top video?   Honestly, I don't think that the hand and the wrist are joined as one piece of geometry.  I still see creases indicating that both models are unique.
