how to block lights coming from Inverse Volumetric

Recommended Posts

Hello I've been doing animations for a while using cinema 4D and this problem i encountered seems to be tricky since i can't find a single solution to the entire internet that's why posting here is my last bullet.

Ok here is the problem, I have this 2 objects (2 plane) and behind them is spot light. the spot light is pointing on both plane and i set it on inverse volumetric. but the light passes on both object, i only want the first object to have the light and the second object will block the light. how can i do this ?

PS. what im trying to achieve is that the object 1 is slightly bigger than object 2 so that there will be an light rays shadows on the edges. but only on edge, not in the center.

thats why there is object 2 in front of object 1 to block lights but the lights just pass through.

I tried adding tags, modifying include-exclude, cast shadows invisible on camera but nothing works.

Any ideas ? thankyou.

Always upload the scene file with a question like this so we don't have to try and recreate a similar setup from scratch...

If you want light only between these planes, you could simply use cliping options with visible light...

I have tried clipping but it actually blocks all light. I only want to block the center light and not the edges because i want light rays shining from the edges.

    Here is the example file:

In that example file, you can see that the light passes through the second plane. I want that light to be blocked so that only the edges have a light rays.
