Flipping sign which flips too much

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I have prepared this flipping sign which will be placed before a ramp in a pinball.

The problem I have is that if the large version works perfectly, when I decrease the size, to scale it for the pinball and hit play, it starts to behave crazy and un-natural. And my pinball cannot be enlarged because it's full of xpresso etc...

Not sure there's a simple solution to this, but if there's, I4m a buyer!

File attached, including the large and the small version of the sign

Thanks!

If you go into your project settings ( Cmd D I think ) and dynamic / expert and change the collision margin and scale to something much smaller, numbers in grab below work but you could try higher. it tells the dynamics that your widget is tiny.

You called also consider one of the connector objects for this, probably work much better, tho not too familiar with those myself.

I concur with @deck - use a hinge connector. A hinge has 2 fields for obj that rotates and obj it's fastened to, but you can leave one field blank and the rotating obj is connected to 'the system'. Or you can have a hidden collider as the stationary obj. In this file I increased damping in the dynamic tag, so it doesn't spin for ever 😀
