Basically, yes. The Neutron node system is the basis for all new features going forwards. In its current state though it isn't something most people will want to use directly; it is super powerful but

Really?  Neutron....and not Neutrino?     I mean, which one works better for you?   This one:     Or this:     Honestly, you folks resonat

Although I don't post much these days I check in several times a week. Yeah I watched the Neutron preview and it looks awesome. Had MAXON released this while I was still using C4D I would likely still

So I came in just at the end of the presentation and just caught "Neutron", "new workflows" and massive geometry handling in the viewport.  Any mention of minimum GPU requirements?

...and a link to the full presentation.

As a former Softimage ICE user...I couldn’t be more excited about Neutron. I came in late and missed the Redshift RT demo.. l guess we might have to wait until tomorrow.

No, no mentions about that, but it think whatever you have now its gonna be able to run it and have a better performance than you have now.

Videos will probably come soon after the show ...

Project Neutron and the high performance viewport in the next release of C4D looks really intriguing.

Blender support for RedShift in the coming weeks/months. Redshift RT looks pretty sweet.

The update to Red Giant Glow looks nice.

IBC will announce more details about the new version of C4D

So I missed the entire presentation, so in that ignorance does it appear that Neutron gives the same viewport performance as Unreals Nanite (shown in Unreal 5 demo)?

That Unreal demo blew me away.  The reaction to Neutron seems to be the same.

Neutron can be a huge step in several ways. It will be interesting to see how much of it finds its way to the next release. But I also have the fear, that MAXON is giving away its unique easy to use UX. As we saw starting with reflectance and then the very complex material node system. We have 3 renderengines right now with 3 different types of material setups and i am not talking about redshift. If this translates to object handling and editor views (the normal one, advanced open gl, performance and neuton) I think that the advances could well come at the cost of usability.

As Dave mentioned, users will be able to use this as a high level stuff or low level. In the end, it really depends on the user and how deep he is willing to dive in. @Hrvoje is a prime example of how deep you can dive in into Neutron. 🙂

For now Neutron is a Tech demo, not a feature. There is no plan to create a nodes only workflow for Cinema 4D, the final goal is a new Cinema 4D based on the Neutron core but with a high level workflow that inherits all the good traits from classic Cinema 4D.

Yeah.. it looks great. I was worried MAXON would be going in directions that didn’t allow us this level of nodal control.  My fears have really been eased today. I feel like the possibilities here are mindblowing with all the Red Giant tech too. I hope they just keep expanding Neutron to cover compositing and all other things in Cinema 4-D.
