Colouring individual clones without losing reflectance?

Recommended Posts

I have a Cloner set-up and I want to individually colour the clones, without losing my reflectance channel.

I've managed to isolate and colour the clones with multiple Shader Effectors, each with a Mograph colour shader and a Colourizer in the Colour texture channel. The texture tag is applied to the Shader Effectors and the parameter is set to effector colour. I've used a spherical field to isolate each clone and colour them. But it seems to override the reflectance channel and is giving me matte clones?

To be honest I dont fully understand the Mograph shaders, so Im having trouble resolving the issue. What am I missing here - am I even going about this the right way?

Thanks.

I am not shure what you are up to and therefor there are many anwers to your question. But shader effectors are not to change shaders, but to change clones acording to textures. make them bigger where the shader is white for example. so I have two posibilities for you. first make the clones to indiviual objects (you can still change them with effectors, but putting materials on them is straight forward. or use a mograph colorshader and fallofs or selections. Look into the mograph selection tool! that might be the best way to go. here are examples.

best regards
