Basic IK goal rotation

Recommended Posts

Hi there.

I have a basic rig on a flat character. Arms and legs with an IK tag, but maybe i'm missing something in the setup because i can't rotate the Goal independently, hence the hand/foot is fixed to forearm/calf rotation.

Appreciate any advise and thank you very much for your time.

Moved to correct section - this rig does not involve Character Builder.

Just created a null at the tip of the foot constrained to that bone, then throwed that null as child of the foot goal; now the ankle bone rotates along with the goal null, but somehow the ankle weighting remains static, even though the bone is rotating... What am i doing wrong?? ..still working on this.. ha!

Thank you very much for your help Sr.Digitvisions. Didn't catch what you said at first. But after googling a bit found a tut and everything you said was crystal freaking clear to my dumbass skills.

I'm posting that in case someone finds it useful.

PS. Sorry for posting in the wrong channel at first.

Cheers to y'all !!!
