I'm newbie with Scene Nodes, but Eric M. wrote that no particle stuff in Nodes - look - every geometry unit has vector, we can make PBD and or python modules with physics engine. I'm lookin at binary kite example in content

Only commenting on the things I used. Scene nodes look promising (haven't tested), but more importantly again show a strong vision for the future. I also comment on the general outlook, MyMa

I had a surface level look at scene nodes but then digged into the past material nodes again and want to share some thoughts,  not so much about the functionality but the implications of the prio

Grateful I jumped off...and stuck w/plan for blender/R20. Will have soon saved nearly $2,000. Never had to fuss with broken plugins, bugs, hassles and modest upgrades. Already had Octane and Rizom UV.

Just installed R23. I thought it would be an easy thing transferring all the plugings from S22 since the build is very slimier. But non of my plugins worked in R23 including redshift 🤔.

Does anyone else have the same problem or is it just me?

This is probably due to the fact that Maxon updated Python 2.7 to 3.7 I think. So its up to plugin developers to update them. Its a headache but a necessary one.

That's great @everfresh, I'm glad you worked with MAXON for this functionality.

Do you mean the Face Rig tutorial for your old template? (btw  - I've actually rigged a cartoon character using that body and face rig - but have been sidelined with so may other projects I haven't had a chance to use it yet :/)

no, i mean the tutorial for the new face rig. 😉

Yep, same here. Annoying.

C++ plugins need to be recompiled see Cinema 4D R23 Released.

Python plugin as said, we switched from Python 2.7 to Python 3.7.7 since Python 2.X reached his end of life and is now unmaintained. However if the plugin developer already take care of looking at python 3 he could probably write it in a compatible way for both Python 2 and Python 3. So long story short, for python plugins it will depends, some may works, some may not.

Cheers,

Maxime

How are Perpetual users able to find out the price or choose to upgrade?

I sent query through the 'contact us' on MAXON website but is that the way to go about this?

1020€ Vat incl in France for an upgrade. I just got the information from the distributor but even on their page the information  is hard to find.  I used to pay 660€. Do the math...That’s back stabbing. Shame on MAXON.

Yes, and their determination to hide the upgrade means I can't even buy it & get started, have to wait for them to call  back. Then after the 30% price increase & difficulty in purchase, they can claim ' we don't see any demand for perpetual & cancel it in a release or 2.

I will say, though, that R21 -> R23 is a good upgrade in terms of features & I am eager to get using it, but it's not great value for money & the whole transition has soured my attiutude towards them.

I most propably will not update. Its not that I dont like some of the features, its just, that 1000€ for a yearly update doesn't feel right. I didn't cancle my msa, MAXON did. So I will use my new freedom. If redshift was included I would update thoug.
