Control the ending of a dynamic sim.

What you can do is go to project settings > Dynamics (Ctrl or Cmd + D)

And in the dynamics tab, you can keyframe time value, so gradually slow down dynamics "motion speed", and/or totally kill it when setting it to 0.

There is maybe a more elegant solution but might it help you.

 

Alternatively you could bake your simulation and export it as alembic file. Then, loading the alembic file in your scene you can play with it's speed and time so stop it where you want.
