Is this edge flow the best I can get it?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to cut a hole or an ‘arch’ out of the side of a domed surface. I have managed to get what I want my making the low-poly mesh fairly high res with about 256 rotation segments and about 20 height segments.

The results renders fine but I am being OCD about the edge flow of the arch. Is this the best I can get it? I have circled below the polygons that are bugging me.

If there is any way of improving this I would very much like to know. Attached are screen shots and the C4D file.

Many thanks,

No that's fine. If we didn't allow 5 point poles it would be impossible to change edge flow direction. if we're not going for ultimate poly efficiency that is a flawless A* model at the moment ! But we don't need quite that many polys to describe that form and cutout, so you could have started with a quarter of the rotational segments, and still got a deformation-free result...
