several times i have tried to make a disc brake rotor, it comes out ok for me but as the picture shows, the poly count is huge.

this was made all with splines, extrudenurbs and boole.

so would love to see a tutorial on how to create something like this with a lower poly count

just a thought.

How about 204 points and zero polys? wink.gif

Use duplicated splines and group them before dropping it under an extrude nurbs.

Edit: For clarification, the duplicated splines should be CONNECTED to form a new multi-section spline.

This new spline is then placed under the ExtrudeNurbs.

Stages are in the file.

Thanks for the example Alan.. do you mind if I try them out on my Lamborghini ?

I promise to break them in gently for the first 500 miles spoton.gif

No problem.. what color do you want it ?

Btw Just to show that I'm not just copying your file.. I did some experiments to try out this technique.... well I guess it shows I know how to use it, if not well yet!..

great that you showed that method, which was basicly the same as mine, but in mine you can see that the holes go through but the ridge is only half way, so thats where the boole came into it.

then i tried to clean it up when i made it editable.

was wondering how could or would you create the same in a single editable disc.
