  • This question is so noob, I don't have the heart to put it in the materials forums.

How do I get an object to glow so that it doesn't recieve shadows or shading? I have a gradient for the color of the material, but whenever I turn on the luminance channel, and put on any color or setting, it ruins the color gradient.

To exclude an object from receiving shadows, give it a compositing tag, and uncheck the "receive shadows" box.

To fix your luminant material, dont use the color channel. Just place the color gradient you made in the luminance channel. If all you want is a luminant material, then you really dont need the color channel.
