    Hey gang,

I'm proud to inform you that I've just finished authoring a video tutorial for achieving SSS effects in CINEMA 4D.

Subject to mods approval, it will be offered free to all, here on C4D.

The tutorial is 53 minutes long... and is quite thorough. Its dimensions are 1024 x 768 (ie., large, and not YouTube size). It's filled with loads of examples, explanations, tips and tricks, aimed at the beginner and intermediate practitioner. (It might even have a couple of helpful ideas for old hands at SSS!). Never again need anybody grope in the dark trying to make SSS give them predictable results.

My next step, of course, is to submit it to 3DKiwi and the other C4D mods for approval.

How do you suppose I should offer it here... in one long video? Or divided up into, say, two or three or four chunks?

    Best, ras

That's terrific!! I would ask 3DKiwi for his advice on how he wants it. :-)

    Hi FR3SH,

I'm not sure I understand your question..... but in the tuts I do create some SSS objects which include COLOR and SPECULAR channel additions.

I suppose my next task will be learning how to plug in the SSS effect in some other places beside the usual LUMINANCE channel, and also combining the SSS effect with bitmaps as our member Marijn describes (editable, of course, in BP2/BP3) and in FUSION/LAYER settings... So many possibilities!!
