Falling Snow

  • Does anyone have any tips for what to use as the actual snow itself?

    I don't have any trouble setting up the emitters, etc... with TP, but the trick is what is best to use as the object for the emitter to get a nice looking snow?

    Do I use planes with alpha maps? White spheres? Tiny cubes? It would be nice for the object to be low poly, but I think I will have time to render something a bit more extravagant.

    Anyone have any ideas and samples of anything they might have come across?

    You could try pyrocluster.. i dont know if it maight take to long to render.

  • Aye, I think that could look pretty sweet!

    I will have to try to get the render times down as I am sure with Pyrocluster my rendering will slow to a crawl.

    Yepp, storm tracer would do a better and faster jobb than pyro. but you could get your render time pretty low.
