Falling Snow

Recommended Posts

Have a look at Base80's Autumn Leaves mini-tute. Just use a snowflake bitmap instead of the leaf.

Cheers, Alan.

  • You couldn't post the scene file of the pyrocluster added to the emitter could you? I am having trouble putting the texture on to the particles.

I aint done this in such a long time I have forgotten it all.

Pyro is much too cumbersome. Why not use FOG as a texture with displacement and/or bump to create FLUFFY snowflakes? Much quicker than using Pyro....just a thought. Will need to play around with it to get what you want. laugh.gif

  • I have got Pyro looking really good.

But fog is a good idea too, it may speed up render times.

I will give that a go next.

I do most of my snow in AE. Its quicker for me to comp in a 3D emitter using AE instead of rendering it out in C4D.

I would be happy to explain this to you, but there is one problem.... my system wont boot up anymore. It just froze up with me yesterday, and now it wont boot. Looks like ill be taking a break from 3D for a while until I can figure out whats going on.

  • Do you use particle playground? I've heard its a tad over complicated. Tho I would be willing to learn if it's the way to go. In the meantime, I will have to stick with C4D.

    Morpheus,

Have you checked out this site for snow and/or rain xpresso files? Some really nice files and with some texture, you can probably create some nice snow scenes.
