Masking Objects

  • hi.. anopther basic question...

    how do i mask an object in cinema....to make it reveal/or hide..

    thanks to all of those who take the time to help us...(beginners).

  • Hi moroko. Not certain this is what you mean. You can hide an object in the view port by changing the small green tick to a red cross in the object manager. Or, if you want to hide it in an animation you turn 'Visible in Render' to 'off' at the key frame you want the object to become invisible at.

  • thanks for the replies..but i think i wasn't clear enough....i meant if there is a way to use a spline to behave like a mask when over lapped with another object..see my master piece storyboard..hehehe

    Ps (the mask is a spline so its not renderable)

    Once way is with an animated boolean object. Here's a quickie scene file showing how.

    .....so, only solid objects can do the trick or is it posible to do it with a spline... ? what's the Spline Mask in Mograph for ?

    Yup, only solid objects. The spline mask object is boolean object for splines only. Attached is a quick example. The name is a little misleading.
