  • I'm trying to learn how to make a flame like a log fire in a fireplace. I have played around with procluster in 9.6. I just cant get a nice looking flame, its too round and not tapered like a fire. do any of you know any tuts i can view to get a better idea.

as always the members here are so helpful. thank you

you need to a find a sequence(preferably looped) of png's or a flame. Then just slap em in. Should be a lot easier than pyrocluster, probs produce a better result and render a hell of a lot faster.

At the moment pyrocluster is very slow, and not very usefull. As far as i know in cinema it's better to use third party particle plugs.

  • Not 100% sure what your saying but, rendering is too long. I'll keep working at it. thanks.

To speed up rendering change the "World Step" size to something like 30 on the Volume Tracer object (user mode). The default makes for very slow renders.
