Xpresso To Control Lights

  • I have a theater scene that the deadline is closing fast on and any help or example of this would be great and much appreciated.

I have five rows of house lights. Each is row is a light that is cloned with mograph across the width of the theater. So I have 5 lights to animate for dimming.

I also have a second light in each that controls the visual light for that fixture. So five more lights cloned.

I want to create a null with user data sliders for:

    1) House Lights Lum

    2) House lights Viz

and have each slider control all the lights of it's kind in the scene. I know it's possible, and I could probably figure it out if I tried, but I have so much to finish before this deadline, and I was hoping to have some frames rendering over the weekend.

Check this example on my website http://www.bonkers.de/xpa/xplight.html

It's a bit more complex then you need, but it uses the same basic technique. Instead of using the distance between objects just hook up a user data slider to the range mapper and away you go.

    Cheers
