Uv Problem

  • Hi. I can't remember how to do this and need some help please? I have some overlapping uv's and need to unfold them but can't remember the command. Can anybody help?

  • I'm sure it is but maybe I'm selecting it wrong. There under a tight spot and they don't want to let me get to the easily. I'll keep trying. :)

    Consider using the "Fit UVs to Canvas" command. That may force the bottom most edges to the outside.

    I think you can pin all the loops before that one ,then do a relax.

    Or just select that hidden loop in viewport and then in UV just scale it down a little.

    Still learning UV myself.

    Do your selecting in the 3D viewport. I sometimes head back to a normal layout and normal polygon mode to do loop selections as the loop selection command doesn't work in UV mode. Selected polygons however become selected UV polygons once you go back into UV mode.

    So all you need to do is select the top UV polygons and do a relax command with the Pin border points option enabled.

  • Thanks. That did it. You're right about going into the normal view to select the tricky edges then back to BP for UV command. Here's how it looks. signthankspin.gif

    Oh, and I still need to stop the texture stretching. Will do it next week.

  • Different problem, same subject. I'm getting this pulling on the texture and I'm not sure why cursing.gif Any ideas why and how to fix it?

    What do you see when the UVs are are shown in BP? Move some points.

  • The UV map looks good I think. If I start moving points about the map will go wonky. Has anybody else had this?

    Off hand, I would suggest deleting those 'extra' edges in your model. Because of them, your UV size is mismatched right where the problem occurs (even on the adjacent letter "I"). :signthankspin:

  • thanks Anthony. Above the logo I need to have the edges to pull in the model in between the cans so can't delete them. Am I doing this the wrong way?
