Nice, looks good!

You'll dig the new picture viewer when you do upgrade, such a difference

Here it is. Thanks for all the help. This is the only reason for me to upgrade to R11.5 but it's only the odd job that requires it. :)

The fill goes a little odd in the top third.

I also had another thought, prompted by the fact that all of the fills so far look just a little odd. Why not just fill a flat box with beans, light evenly and shoot from the top to make a bean material. Then use this as a displacement material on a simple cylinder. Don't know if it would look any better or if it would offer any advantages, but it's a thought.

Cheers

Karl

  • Another good idea Karl, thanks. It's time up here though as this is all needed yesterday as ever. You're right about the top third. It must be because it was cheated with the fill to reduce the clone count. Good fun though.

Oh, and BTW new Vray SSS used on the beans. Whoop whoop.

Looks good. My only crit is there's too much of a pattern of the beans, but maybe it's because they're not as round as some beans. Anyway good job.

That lighting and glass material look great. Vray you say? Did you start with C4D material and convert it?

That's one of the misconception about Vray - that you'll be converting materials. When you use Vray you just make native materials (or reuse, of course) and you're done.

    Cheers

  • "Did you start with C4D material and convert it? " No. Just played with the SSS options with a bit of spec as attached.

how was it done? I have R10.5 and Mograph (R11 won't work for me)

I have this, cheated by making a copy of the jar, scaled it down, and using that in a MoGraph cloner set to object. Upped the clones to 10,000 and this is the result.

    Like dhpdigital already said smile.gif

It should work for R10.5 too, but you might get intersecting polygons without R11.5
