  • Greetings, i hope you guys can help me with this... I import an .exr file rendered in Maya into After Effects, apply the EXtractoR, in the INFO window the RGB values are high (R:16 G:15 B:12 , this is an example)... The problem comes when I want to do the same thing but with .exr file from Cinema 4d, in the info window the values are normal (R:1 G:1 B:1). Is there anyway to export the .exr files form Cinema 4d with more color information?

    Thanks!

Do you have 8 (24) bit dithering enabled in the Save render settings? - if that's enabled I think it may lead to normalised output.

  • Hi hulaboy!! Thanks for your answer, I tried that ,but didn't work... I'm really trying to find an answer for this, it would be very helpful for compositing... For example on a depth pass, if you have more color information you would be able to control it changing the black and white point... You can even create an fog effect...
