  • I thought this would be an easy fix  but I can't figure it out.

the segments need to be vertically aligned but evenly spaced horizontally.

    any ideas?

You can try selecting your spline and making sure it its Intermediate Points are set to Uniform. This might help.

  • nope, that will space them evenly along the spline, they need to be even along the horizontal axis regardless of the angle of the spline.

I've been giving this some thought. Best I can come up with is to make the cloner editable. You then use the "Arrange" tool in Spline mode but with only the Y axis enabled. You then have to tinker with the start and end values but as the image shows, I was able to get the cubes to maintain their spacing but be shifted down to match the spline. This should work for you.

Possibly you may want to move the object axis down.

Your spline can be projected on to the terrain surface using the "Project" command in point mode.

    Hope this helps.

  • brilliant!

it's a shame the cloner needs to be made editable, but it works perfectly! I've never used the arrange tool before, I didn't realise it could do all that.

    Thank you very much!
