Wavy Spline Heartbeat pulse?

Recommended Posts

  • Topic Author
  • I have been struggling for a long time now. Does anyone know how to make those wavy splines that Paul Clements uses in his mitre commerial. I am working on a project to do something along those lines but different shapes. I just love how it starts from a straight line and forms a shape you want it to then falls back into place!

Can anyone please help with my question!?

Here is an image of what I am talking about

What about a Formula Effector in Deformer mode? Here's what I mean.

  • That's alot closer than I have come to it...

That is sorta right. I am trying to make something for a client close to that. The one thing is, they want it to be a flat shape then pop up into this kind of shape then flatten out again.

I tried using a spling wrap with a cube to make that wavy shape. Then use a plain effector, but that isn't working. I am trying to reference paul clements video. hes using some kind of effector, but I just can't figure it out.

Thank you so much for the reply, do you have any other suggestions?

  • Wow yes that does help big time!!! Thanks, I can now get something going from breaking this down. I wasn't even thinking of shrink wrap.

Brilliant solution. One question remains for me: How does Paul get the overshooting, delay effector-esque motion? I tried using using an xpresso rig for springy motion with the delay effector. I also tried throwing everything in a fracture object and applying a delay effector. Nothing. Does anybody have any insight to this?

Figured it out. You have to change the delay effectors deformation mode to point.
