C4D future info & development

Your signature suggests you're into unsubstantiated belief systems so it comes as no surprise you'd lap up what HSrdic says as fact.

Sorry, I require evidence to back up claims. If HSrdelic was able to say he worked for all these companies at one time his claim might have a tiny bit more credibility but would still suffer from the obvious fact he isn't working for them now and therefore wouldn't know what their current plans are. Just as anyone one at AD, SideFX wouldn't know MAXON's current development plans beyond what is publicly available unless a recent employee transfer has brought IP with them.

Wow....was that first line really necessary?  Honestly.  Really?  Did you feel good about typing it?  Is that how you treat people you never met?  How is that attitude working for you so far?

Now you go and have a nice day.  Honestly, I want you to have a really nice day.  Because I sense you definitely need one.

Hmmm.. so you guessed that MAXON, who were constantly getting complaints that their software was slow, might 7 years later announce that they are working on it.. sorry but you didn't have to be Nostradamus to come up with that one..  ;)

Sorry but your claims that you know the future for other apps are purely subjective from my point of view.

You would be surprised how much developers talk ;)

While they might be at ends with each other in the market, the people actual people within the companies are still very amicable towards each other.

And at least in the case of Houdini, MAXON has a very close relationship with them.

So it is not completely off base to claim knowledge of future development plans for other companies.

I for one eagerly await to test these claims, regardless of stretched truth or not.

Can we get Outman banned from this site?

Amen, I'd second that thought

Things have sure oozed a long ways from learning and helping here

So I am liar? :)

You are certainly not a liar but I think your enthusiasm about C4D might sometimes cloud your judgment, you already said before that MAXON politics is not just to improve but to bring the best possible solution with the bevel tool as an example in R15 but you forgot the reflectance channel and TRS in R16, two features that don't meet the hi standard MAXON has accustomed us in term of effectiveness or stability. I'm happy that a new core is underway but some past MAXON choices have not always been so popular, so it's normal that some users are now rather cautious.

I hope you are  refering to this topic only. Cafe hepling others on all fields, but as someone mentioned once, me and Hrvoje cant make a community if community isnt ready to share and help others as well. Honestly, this topic is now just waste of time.

And the fact that it has been in C4D since R16 and no one noticed (i.e. its stable and not crashing all the time) is a testament to their dev and planning skills.

I think this is a really huge deal. Much bigger than people are giving them credit for. The fact that they have a whole new core in there without an uptick in bugs is pretty impressive. Look at how much trouble the After Effects team at Adobe is having with CC 2015! That demonstrates how a core rewrite can go sideways on you. As Patrick said, a ballsy move by Adobe. It was desperately needed though and I'm glad they did it. I just wish corporate Adobe would have been as open about the changed architecture as the AE team was. Too many users were blindsided by the changes.

I think the blog post from MAXON is really good news in terms of how they are working and what they are working on. Yes, I would prefer all of the new features to be right here, right now, but I know it takes some time. I would prefer the new versions to be more like the Bevel Tool and Mograph and less like Reflectance. (Granted, I like the power of Reflectance a lot, but I really can't edit multiple materials at once? GAAH!)

Autodesk is in the middle of layoffs, but MAXON is hiring more developers. This bodes well for my choice to use C4D!

We know new UV tools are being worked on, we know there's a new core in place which is paving the road for a much faster system, we know there are some brilliant people that have many years of experience being joined by fresh new talent...

I haven't been this excited about C4D for years! (Please don't let us down!)

I agree on all points. Good post.

I congratulate MAXON on making a smooth transition under the hood so far and on finally sharing with us a little of what is going on with the future of the product.

I'm just taking a moment to enjoy the delicious irony of a gent from the land of the free calling for a bit of censorship.

Despite what you may think I have a great deal of respect for HSrdelic and as as site owner he has the final say on all matters. If he would like me not to post on his site all he has to do is publicly ask me not to post here and I'll respect his wishes, he won't have to ban me.

Capisce?
