Correction Deformer and Materials

Recommended Posts

Guest YellowDog

Hello,

I would like to know how can I apply multiple materials in conjunction with correction deformer. I understand that correction deformer provides a non-destructive way to edit or manipulate your mesh. I would like to maintain that and do not want to make them editable. At the same time, I would like to apply different materials to different parts of the polygons. I have done polygon selection tags. But when I apply the material and link to that selection, it does not work. May I know what is the best approach using Correction Deformer with Materials and Polygon Selection Tags.

Thank You.

Has there been anything new on this front? I would also like to keep an object parametric while using different materials on different faces.

Thanks,
Bryan

Don't know why anyone didn't tell you this last time, but yes that works fine !

Make your poly selection within the correction deformer, but then move the tag back onto the original object (and delete the deformer). Then Drag both materials to the object, and drag the selection tag you just made into the one you want to apply to that selection. Look !
