Cartoon Character Modelling/Rendering Challenge #1

65 posts in this topic

Hi.  @VECTOR  and I had an idea to start a Cartoon Character Modelling/Rendering Challenge. We will be participating with it but anyone are welcome to tag along. (Maybe @maliohammad or @Rectro?)

Terms
(1) The theme will be Warrior Child Apprentice. Child is construed as after infancy but before puberty. No specific gender.
(2) The deadline will be on Dec 2, after which a voting thread is set up for about a week.
(3) There is no prize for this challenge. This is just purely an activity for fun and learning with a dash of peer pressure.
EDIT: Actually, there will be. Slgor, our forum moderator, will be giving away the "Intro to R18 and Modelling" tutorial to the winning member. How cool is that!
(4) The character concept may be made by yourself or from other persons (be sure to give a credit). Needless to say, the character should be modeled and rendered by the participant.
(5) Character can be in T/A pose or a different pose.
(6) Software used should be mainly Cinema4D.
(7) Post-processing is allowed.
(8) WIP images can be shared and posted for criticism.
(9) For posting format, please have at least 2 orthographic wire views (1 front and 1 side) and 1 rendered view.
(10) You can submit your entries via PM thru bentraje or VECTOR before the deadline.

Let's have some fun!

@maliohammad
See you later this month! I, myself, have only modeled one or two full body mesh and so this will really be a challenge.

We didn't specify. So it can really be anything so long as it spells "Warrior" in it.

Cool you can sketch. I'll probably outsource majority of my character as I'm not really a draftsman. Hahaha

Great idea, but I'm out for this one guys. In the middle of a project at the mo which is gonna take ages, so won't have time.

But I'll be watching all your excellent work. And being preferentially nice to the people that do it with 100% quads :)
