Just to check, you are talking about snapping from vert to vert right?

Dan

Snapping need to work in all modes, but also it should only snap to verts, yes.

Vertex to vertex works fine. But when I enable the Plane Cut tool and you see a visual line moving across your geometry as you move your cursor across it (using LOCAL mode), it does not snap to vertices as it did in R15/16. I have to manually enable the snapping tool each time in this version.

Ill report that as bug...let see what happens.

I found the culprit! The reason snapping wasn't coming on when enabling the knife tool is because "Tool Specific" wasn't enabled in the Modeling Settings, found under Mesh > Commands > Modeling Settings. Screenshot attached. So, it is indeed not a bug :D

I have a suspicion that it cuts the knife, depending on the angle of the camera to the surface of the polygons. When I put the camera perpendicular to the surface of the polygon, the knife works correctly.

It's strange that the quantize step function is not available for Line Cut and Plane Cut .
I think that the guys in MAXON should have anticipated this.

In Loop / Path Cut, the quantization step function looks great.
The Plane Cut tool also does not have the function to automatically switch the cutting plane direction.

Yes, I suspect that MAXON knows about these things.
I hope my information and file will simplify the understanding of the problem.
