@SIgor @DanLSK nice!

I recorded a screen capture to introduce people to Redshift.

First time ever doing a tutorial like this, so it came out longer than expected, is a little wordy, and there are a couple of audio sync issues - but I hope it's not all too annoying.  I see it as a practice run for a (hopefully) better one down the line.

0:00-12:00 - settings and configuration

12:00-17:30  - lighting

17:30 - end - materials

Also, note: since Redshift for C4D is still not out commercially, please do not share this video publicly.  It is unlisted and only for the benefit of C4DCafe members with the link.

I just watched the video, very informative for newcomers. Amazing renderer, I think I found my new one. Now I need to test it with my gold scenes and see can I get rid of Maxwell! :)  Thank you @nerv:999:

Guys I am really stuck here, can some please tell me how to add 'dirt' type of material onto this candle cup...I tried to figure it out, but just can't find anything helpful. :compFist:

EDIT: You can sculpt while IPR is on! :D

EDIT 2:

@nerv, one thing, or tip...if you have a situation when your light is overburning the viewport, simply add Camera Tag to Camera object, lower light intensity and then in Attribute Manager of Camera Tag simply lower ISO values and you will have  nice looking viewport

@SIgor thanks for that tip! I wonder if it interferes with the redshift camera tag in any way. I'll test that later today.

I also have plans to do another mini tutorial for getting DOF, motion blur, and final render.

Can also go more into the nodes system for getting grunge effects, etc.

@SIgor I'll take a look at your scene and try to do a video on that later today when I'm not as busy (or maybe tomorrow).

Meantime, here's another short video to compliment the first one.  Going into the Redshift physical sky / sun,  DOF, motion blur, and animation rendering.  Audio sync is much better, though there's quite a bit of noise.  Hope it helps!
