Feel bad asking considering the discount but are you having some kind of student bonus on top of that?0

Really nice price! I am only just wondering, for now I have only one GPU GTX960 4 gb, will this be ok for some cycles rendering? Mostly doing dental visualizations in 1024x768. SSS, skin...teeth...

Absolutely. You should be able to get a lot of miles from the CUDA rendering.

I jumped on both XP and Cy4D during last years promotion. I do not regret it. We all know XP is a great system; Cycles 4D I feel has the potential to eclipse Octane. It's THAT good. There is a slight learning curve beyond Octane, but that's because the node editor in Cycles is extremely versatile allowing you to make materials and shaders that would otherwise be prohibitively difficult to make or downright not possible.

I've pretty much stopped using Octane because I only have one GPU and I can't get Octane projects sent to a render farm, if Cycles is different then I'll definitely but it.

I bit the bullet and bought the package deal. Can't wait to get stuck in. Cycles will be the first alternate Render I've used so should be interesting.

i read the cycles4d forum yesterday and decided not to use the 50% discount.

people complain about not getting any update since last year

and that cycles4d crashes a lot even with simplest scenes.

thats the thing with new renderers... they need a long time,

and sometimes they disappear before they ever got usable.

Users that have contacted our technical support about crashes have been given access to the latest beta build. The time for an update depends on fixes in the Cycles core (which is not under our control) along with the Cycles 4D plugin itself. We will be announcing the next update shortly.
