Simple color shading question

Recommended Posts

I'm drawing a shape that needs to fade from dark blue to light blue.  How do I accomplish this?  Its not fading in any animation, just a static fade.

Thanks, whats the best way to use this?  The tutorials I've found online aren't as helpful as I'd like.

Well, you haven't said what the shape is, or uploaded a picture of it, so I can't answer that until you do.

However, the general method is create a new material, and in the colour channel choose gradient, and set the options of that, then drag the material to the object.

You can read about mapping options in your manual.

Oh, I didn't think the shape would affect the process.

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong place for the gradient option.

Yes it does - you are working in 3D, so mapping type very important, and different for various types of object.
