hey guys this shader ball looks pretty awesome to test some advanced materials it would be great to have something like this for  c4d. its free, but is max.

does anyone have something like this or could export this from max to an obj and textures at least . I can't no max here, never even opened it.

Hmmm. something like that wouldn't be too difficult to model to be honest

You can download a C4D version of Warwick's shader ball here:

If, like me, you don't have VRay, you'll get a  message regarding missing plugins when opening the file. Once the scene is loaded, just delete the VRay mats and you can use/render the model. The polygon count is a bit insane on that one. :-)

If you check out the OP's link, the description says that Warwick created the ball in CAD software, not a polygon modelling app.

So, I did give this a try in Cinema as everyone seems to think it's not that difficult. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't find it particularly easy. Certainly doable. My version is not exactly like Warwick's. I think that getting the same sharp corners on that triangular hole that he has would require more polygons.

If anyone else gave it a shot, would you mind sharing a wireframe? I'd really be  interested in seeing what you came up with.

Cheers,
