Local IK,Global IK, and FK Arm

Recommended Posts

So, today I attempted doing an Arm that when switching through the modes, the pose will save throughout. It seems to work pretty nicely but was there a better way of doing it than I did here?

Just wanting to share it and see peoples opinions on it.

Also, the only bug I've found is that when either IK modes to FK, the rotation of the arm changes a bit. Not too bad but still.

Interesting set-up. As for me, I just used this built-in feature in the IK tag to flip between IK and FK modes.
I'm not sure though how to go about it on Local and Global IK.

Is Global IK following the root controll and the Local IK following the Torso?

If I were to put this in a completed rig, global would follow the master controller.

Also, I attempted to see how I would use that IK FK slider but I couldn't really find out how I'd be using it with what I was doing.

As I mentioned, the IK Tag can help you. Anyway, I guess for a "local" IK, you can use a parent constraint to turn on and off.
