    Rough test render. I need to work on the edges. Render Time 1 min a frame at 1920 x 1080 on I7 3930K 6 Core/12 Threads . I was experimenting with render times so baked out a model. Thing is render mem usage suggests i could have a far higher detailed model but this is the limit of subdivs I could get inside the program. Perhaps I could adjust some prefs to get the RAM usage optimized..or is it a GPU thing ? I don't think so as the GPU has only 12 GB RAM and this model is far more than that. Quality is bad embedded watch on YouTube !! Why model it ? Well the processing time for high detail sub ploy displacement is the issue without a render farm.

    you could try sphere mapping instead of UV mapping

    In your sketch material in Strokes tab disable "Filter Strokes" (or leave it use lower values for length / or use different mode with lower length value depend on your animation result)

    09 January 2020 Hi, my name is Yann i am a 2d/3d artist, i use mostly Photoshop & After Effects. I start in 1989 doing pixel arts. Now i am learning After Effects and Nuke for the next 18 months to come. I am looking for a partner, 3D artist using C4d / Houdini to create a dynamic duo. The goal is to work with each other to create a professional portfolio for VFX industry. And work for productions. Specialized in: Digital Matte Painting & Compositing It will be great to have a minimum of 3 years into C4d. And knowing a little Photoshop. Learning Houdini ( and for me Nuke ) is not an option to work for VFX industry.     Yeah, it sort of works That pole in the middle of the disc is affecting things in a negative way, but I like what you tried to do with spherize. TBH in your file what you were trying to do was radically different from what I was imagining you were asking, so as long as you're happy, hey ? CBR

    You shouldn't need a compositing tag to resolve that. Move the lights around until you minimize that, and make sure you have Ambient Occlusion off if you have it loaded. Or you can change the shadows in the light to be less intense and a more suitable colour (deep red / brown)... CBR

    Modelled with Modo mainly. No imported parts. Everything modelled by me. There's a handful of parts modelled with Cinema 4D. The decals were done using Affinity Designer. I've got the real Lego Harley Davidson.

Hexahedron sphere (segmentation was choosen to be enough smooth and has centar horizontal edge loop, but should be any segmentation and after convertion to poly selected and connected ring of central horizontal edges) After poly conversion selected top halph polygons With snapping adjusted modeling axis (L-modificator) to center horizontal edge loop of sphere With scale tool and Shift modificator scaled all selected polygons to zero (select/click on Y axis gizmo and scale down to zero) From polyselection with Ctrl modificator remove polygon loop from border of selection Selected brush tool and in Smooth mode in top view make polyselection "more uniform" At the end (if needed) select border edge loop and apply some small bevel (or deformer if want to keep parametric) Result could be similar to this...
