    Action

A tip: You need animation skills to make the illusion of motion. That's all!

    Action

The animation and render could work as storyboard or previs, however it need better storytelling to work properly. There is a few cool shots though. But your piece need much work of storytelling, framing, photography, timing...and also animation. Keep it up!

    The Keys trailer

Agree. Absolutely cliche, however the story is much more. This shot was just a kids hook. The overall visual is just a storyboard /previs workflow with a cinematography touch (that makes the difference, I think so). Quick cheap render with a lot of photos as BG in a few primitives. The animation is done with same concept, like a storyboard. If I would make this with great CG, I´ll need two lives or just... budget! Glad you like
  4. Trailer of my short film The Keys. Special thanks to Mervic

This is a little part of a 6 minutes teaser with car chase, fights, voodoo gore .... and more Glad you like it
  9. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Hi, I did a symple rigg car with dynamics and a bit Xpresso. Works fine, however is very difficult to animate in a simple road curve for example. I spend too much time trying over and over the perfect wheels turn for the entire animation of the car until bake the animation. Also I tried follow a spline unsuccessfully, but I don´t looking for animation with spline,I´m looking for animate like this: Minute 2:00 I don´t need all these control sliders, just I would like move the entire car frame by frame where I want and the dynamics continue reacting with the terrain and steering the wheels by hand if need it. Someone can help me? Thanks BTW: I tried this rig,but I can´t get it works properly. Dynamics no reacting with the floor and with a few frames the car get madness. No works for me.

    Phong issue??

Thanks, you have a PM too. mmm... maybe. I´m on Mac, CS6 and r17. I don´t have this NVIDIA tools. True, my mesh is mirrored, now I see it! Seems I have a few mistakes importing obj too. I don´t know why, man. I downloaded a game character like those from other site to test it, but ready for C4D and works well. However they just have one character that I don´t need.
  12. Hi, Can anyone download some of these models and tell me what´s wrong with the textures? http://luxox18.deviantart.com/gallery/ I convert the dds files to png textures in Photoshop and then I tried to delete phong tag and other things like invert normal and so on... and I can´t fix that So please, if you have a chance try by yourself and let me know how to fix it. Thanks

    Phong issue??

Damn! not works for me Still the same. What I´m doing wrong?

    Phong issue??

WOW! You got it! Dank schon for download a character! This is why I ask for download one of these instead just of attach an image. I think could be that. I´m going to try save as PSD

    Phong issue??

I see, I guess it´s done in Maya or whatever.. I don´t know. I would like a mid poly model, however I don´t know where to buy it. There is a lot of concept art on the web but not 3D models itself. I´m looking for sci-fi biohazard suit models. If you know some websites that have these kind of mid poly models, please let me know. Thanks

    Phong issue??

Right with texture. As you can see, UV looks good however there is something wrong.
  17. It´s a render or a viewport GPU view? This shadows seems just a bug
  18. My first try with car rig. Hope enjoy it!

    Low Drone

No secret, I mean is the same car rigging of the link. I had a lot of issues for this video, for example: in some shots the car just get out the road, or the tires not touch the floor.... I started with a more easy rig however incontrolable driving, then I tried the Jed one and works much better to me but some issues too to get fast speed... and so on. I´m not know about car rig, it was try and error. Let me know if this helps. Thanks fellas!!!

    Low Drone

Glad you like it ;) Check this threat for car rig: Then, real textures (road, rocks...) over primitives It´s more about storytelling skills than 3D skills.

    Compositing practice

It´s no easy, but not so complicated at all. Don´t looks awesome because lack a good starting point render lighting. If you have a chance, just try to put your plate (video footage) on material as HDRI in a sky and turn on GI. Lighting only with this sky for now and you got properly WB instantly. Then, add a floor and sun lighting if need it for the cast shadows. The idea is to get the better result from raw render. Raw render must looks like the robot is there, don´t leave that for postproduction. Once you got this, then you can start to play around with post effects and color, curves, contrast to get much better compositing with the plate...and then, color grading! Keep it up!
  22. You can use the video footage as HDRI and instantly got the color balance of the scene for you 3D model, however maybe you need add some extra lighting (be carefully with specular) Shadows cast is another challenge for CGI composite. it´s all about photography : focal, lighting, lens artifacts, shutter (motion blur)...and so on. Is very easy add 3d to a real footage but not so easy to looks realistic. Many times I prefer bake texture to the model from still photos from the set where we shot, instead expend too much time to lighting a model with generic mat. I mean,If I have to composite a car,I take photos of whatever car place in the set and I add to the 3D model car. And I have 90% the job done just render it without GI or any kind of lighting. Just reflections and a light pass for shadow cast as multiply layer. It´s a little bit like camera mapping concept.

    Scale viewport

Thanks Voytech, It works same as change the focal length of the camera by hand and move the film offset by yourself where you want. Still a camera job, not a canvas. Yes,could work in some cases, but is not the way what I´m looking for. Could be problematic if we have foreshortening animations with wide angle lens.

    Scale viewport

Hi, Some way to scale the viewport size in C4D? Like magnifying tool in PS or AE. I´m doing an animation frame by frame with real actor as reference (like rotoscope) and make impossible follow the action when the actor is far from camera. Just in case: zoom the camera focal length not works because change the perspective Thanks
  25. Awesome man! After the exploited wheels and your malicious laughter,I got this thing works! hahahaha... Thank you so much for the rig and the tutos ;)
