  1. I am modeling a bench and I want it to look like it has the same sticker randomly stuck all over the surface of it. I tried using an object cloner set to surface but I can't get the sticker to lay flat on the geometry so I assume I need to use a material of some kind. I want the decal, which is round to have random rotation and distribution. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. If anybody is interested, it's because I didn't disable seen by refraction. As usual, an hour or two of dicking around with settings solves it.
  3. I have a simple scene setup with some geometry and a sky object with an HDRI to light the scene. I'm using a compositing tag to hide the sky from the camera but it shows up in my render no matter what. I've done this a million times with no issue. What is happening? scene.c4d
  4. I rarely need to use the spline pen in C4D and I usually try not to because I can't figure out why this happens. I want to draw a bezier curve and then go back to drawing a straight line on the next click, but it won't switch back for me. Drives me crazy. What am I doing wrong??? bandicam 2018-11-05 17-50-09-859.mp4
  5. I have been wondering if I've been creating my models starting with too little geometry. Maybe that's the main problem.
  6. I have this same problem with so many models, and I just can't seem to wrap my head around solving it. I created a simple scene to demonstrate. I have this chess rook, and I want to put it in a subdivision surface, but when I do, it wrecks the top of the model because the edges at the top don't stay tight where I need them to. But if I make the loop cuts to tighten them up, it wrecks the rest of the model. I run into this problem all the time. Any advice would be very helpful.
  7. I don't work with Bezier splines very often but when I do I always have the same frustration. When I want to create a curve, I click and drag out the curve, and then the next point I draw is automatically also a curve. Why doesn't the pen go back to drawing straight lines after I drag out a curve?
