  1. Is there anyway to recover a file that opens with an 'Incorrect File Structure' message?
  2. Thanks for your response! Just out of curiousity - what would you have a 3D artist send files to you as? I'm receiving these files from a third party, and I'm trying to figure out the best practice on what format I can receive them and load them up with their materials. Thanks again,
  3. Hello - I'm trying to import an .OBJ into C4D. It has a .MTL file accompanying it, but I can't get it to load. The model just comes in black. I tried the RipTide plugin/script and it didn't seem to work. Does anyone know how to solve this or get an .OBJ to come in with materials? I also have an .FBX file too, but importing that with materials is also unsuccessful. I am on Cinema 4D R20 Studio. I'm working on a MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.6. Any insight would be appreciated!
  4. I've done this and it's still happening. Not sure why.
  5. Hey all - I just upgraded to C4D R19 Broadcast. I keep trying to save out an .aec file, but it appears as a white blank page. When I try to import it into after effects, nothing happens. My after effects is able to import any other .aec. I tried saving out different .aec files from different projects new and old on R19 and they're all coming out the same. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Thank you,
  6. Hey I turned off screen saver and it renders fine now. Seems silly! Thanks!
  7. Hey all - I'm having an odd problem, and I'm sure it has something to do with my hardware. When I first begin to render a scene, it will render quickly, but if I leave it overnight and come back, at some point the renders will jump from :15 seconds per frame to 9 minutes per frame. As soon as I start using my computer again, it jumps back down to :15 seconds per frame. I've tried turning energy saver to 'never sleep' and unchecking 'Put hard disks to sleep when possible'. Is there something I can do to keep C4D awake and running when I leave my computer? I am on a Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 Processor 2x2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 64 GB RAM NVIDIA Quadro 4000 2048 MB I'm using C4D R14 Broadcast. Any help appreciated!
  8. I know this is old by now - but I did end up using a constraint tag instead. Thanks for the tip jbatista - I didn't even know that existed.
  9. Hey there - Very new to Xpresso - everytime I try to set up a simple rig in the editor, the models which I'm working with begin to deform in position/rotation/etc. depending on what setup I'm creating in xpresso. I assumed when I deleted them from the xpresso editor that they'd go back to normal, but they just stayed like that and I could not hit 'undo'. To get specific - I'm making a ribbon with a medal on the end of it. I want to attach the medal to the ribbon using xpresso. Anything I do in xpresso affects the model in the viewport and I can't undo the action, even after deleting the rig in xpresso. I'm working in R14 Broadcast. Does anyone have any insight into this?
