  1. Hi Rasputin, I hear ya but I doubt this will happen due to current integration with After Effects via Cineware, unless maybe MAXON did something like have an integrated After Effects Lite in the same way After Effects has Cinema 4D Lite.
  2. I'm debating whether or not to take advantage of this deal. I have Broadcast R18 and am a hobbyist but looking to get back into freelancing. I'm really interested in Sketch and Toon. I'm playing with Cycles4D because I've seen some nice toon shading over in some of the blender forums (BTW, Blender 2.8 looks interesting but for a variety of reasons I just really like C4D). I just gotta get my head around Cycles. I wouldn't mind the extra sculpting, character animation, and simulation tools Studio has to offer. Thing is, once you move to Studio the future upgrade cost can be steep. One option I was thinking of was upgrading my Broadcast license to R20 during the few weeks before R21 comes out so I get a "free" upgrade to that version (a sales rep said that could be done). That's around $895. Then I'd get X-particles for the simulation side. Together its around the same price, but I'm not locked into high upgrade cost. Any thoughts?
  3. Turns out the developer of Animation Nodes is now working directly with the Blender Development team https://www.blendernation.com/2018/06/23/everything-nodes-blender-2-8-code-quest/
  4. Animation Nodes is cool but, as hvanderwegen indicates, not as intuitive as Mograph. Also, last I tried, I had issues trying to install it with the latest version of Blender (this may have been fixed now). The power and ease of Mograph, as well as my personal preference for the C4D interface AND the May the Forth 30% of sales is why I bought Broadcast. Funny thing is last time I dove into Blender and then went back to C4D, there were some Blender UI things I missed. Regarding Blender's UI, there is an initiative for version 2.8 called Blender 101 which may ease adoption for some folks. Blender is awesome and I keep my eyes open for ways to leverage developments related to it. I recently bought a Blender plugin called ToonKit and, using Cycles 4D, am playing with the .osl scripts that came with ToonKit.
  5. I'm looking to sell my copy of Broadcast R18. I'm asking $800 (not including transfer fee if that is required). This is a download version and I have both the Windows ISO file and OSX DMG file which I can provide on USB stick. If you're interested, please PM me or email me at kevin@reaghmedia.com. I can provide you the first 11 digits of the serial number which you can use to contact MAXON and confirm it's authenticity. I'll accept payment via PayPal.
