  1. I seem to be getting myself confused. When using Team Render with an AO and GI cache, do I keep Auto Save checked for both AO and GI? Or do I uncheck Auto Save so Team Render will distribute cache to all computers and they just read that?
  2. Thanks for the tip, Cerbera, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Forums of any kind. So far, after reading through the C4D help book (which is very useful and not sure why I didn't try looking there first lol) I've figured out how to cache my GI and AO first using the Prepass Only, Auto Load, Auto Save, Full Animation Mode selected, then rendering to picture viewer so that it caches. Once, that's done, I uncheck Prepass Only in GI, and in AO make sure Skip Prepass (if Present), Auto Load, and Full Animation Mode are checked. And boom! Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that should help speed up my render time. After that, the only other things I think could be killing render time are DoP, Motion Blur, textures, and possibly Multi-Pass, which at the moment I have 3 Object Buffers, Specular, AO, Material Luminance, Reflection, and Diffuse. Correct me if anything I've mentioned doesn't seem accurate. Thanks!
  3. They did tell me, "After several hours of debugging, the engineering team has found a solution for your issue: Go to Edit Render Settings, under Caustics and uncheck Save Solution." So I fixed that and I'm trying one last time to upload just one frame lol and see if that works. I'll know better in the morning. Also, there are no troubleshooting articles anywhere online for Zync, it's as if they don't want any negative publicity. Maybe if it worked for me I'd like it. It does integrate very well with applications.
  4. hahaha I know, making realistic animations is the worst ;) I'm not sure how long it would take just one machine to render 1 frame, probably 100x longer than it would for 10 machines, which is somewhere between 35-45 mins. I'll look into Google Render, but I am currently trying Google Zync. I've had no luck with any Online Render Farm. None of them like my scene file lol.
  5. Cerbera, my apologies if I wasn't as clear as I should be. Yes, I can get some screenshots of settings and objects. Give me a few minutes to get those. Attached is a PDF of some screenshots of what I'm working with. I think you're right, it's just going to take time to render. It just sucks cause I don't have time, which is why I thought Online Render Farms could render them faster than just some local Team Render. I guess I'll have to have everyone I know bring their computers in the office and have like 25 computers running to get these 5 videos done in the next couple days. C4D_cafe.pdf
  6. Hey, I have a super tight deadline on a project and I need some expert opinions on what I should do. I running into problems with rendering my scene either with Team Render or with Online Render Farms such as Zync, Rendercore, GarageFarm, and Render Rocket. All of them have problems with trying to render my scene. I've cached all my mograph tags, I've cached my AO and my caustics/GI, my physical settings are Medium default, I'm using Depth of Field and Motion Blur, my output is 1920x1080 at 24fps. When I used Team Render in-house, it took 40 hours just to render 350 out of 750 frames, with multipass to OpenEXR. My conclusion is there is something I still need caching or what I thought I cached didn't really. If you have questions, I can provide more details but I'm not allowed to share any project files, unfortunately, even though I would like to. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  7. Hi everyone, long time reader, first-time poster. I have a project I'm working on for a flashlight that breaks apart to show the internal pieces. I decided to use the Mograph Fracture with the Step effector to get the look I wanted. But I'm running into an issue where I needed to break apart objects within an object, for example, batteries from the battery housing. To that, I used another Fracture but this time instead of Step I used the Push Apart effector. Now everything's working like I want it to, but when I want to bake the Fracture for the Batteries, it's unsuccessful. The only time the Mograph cache tag is successful is the Parent Fracture. Any tips or alternatives is greatly appreciated. I'm pretty new to C4D so I'm not too familiar with baking animations for render. THANKS!
  8. I turned up the Collision Margin to 10cm and that seemed to help with the pieces not falling through the box.
