  1. I'll give this a go! Honestly, didn't even think about point mode...but then again, I just got out of a 15 day Pose Morph project...and "points" has almost become a four letter word!
  2. Hi guys! Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'm working on the idea for a loudspeaker animation for a friend's birthday surprise. I'm pretty well versed with C4D at this point, but I'm having a hard time getting a "bone rigged" subwoofer cone to move to the sound loaded into my effector. Does this require a bit of xpresso, or can the sound effector manage control of the weighted cone, surround and body within itself? Either way, I'd love to understand the best way to animate the subwoofer cone to a musical tune. I have not started the project as yet, so there is no project fi

  4. Which of these apps makes facial mocap directly to C4D? I'm giving up on trying to animate these characters with keyframes and Mixamo...and my deadline for a presentation to Netflix is coming up in a hurry. I need the best facial tracking system that DOES NOT use an iPhone for the motion capture. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
  5. I've built a motion timeline so that I can merge motion clips for a seamless transition between to imported motion capture data keyframe sets, but I'm drawing a blank on how to hold the last/first frame in that timeline. Any ideas?
  6. Okay, I'm working on a "Magic 8-Ball", the toy from the 80's that has a floating die that rises to the surface inside of the spherical body to give you generic answers to your question. I'm having a problem putting the polyhedron die inside the sphere with dynamics without the die shooting far and away instantaneously upon clicking play. I've tried collider bodies, rigid bodies, constraints and Mograph...but I cannot get the die to "float" up to the viewfinder window. I've searched everywhere for something similar, but to no avail. I'd really appreciate your ideas.

  8. I'm trying to get a better handle on xpresso and it's uses to control lighting effects. I'm 99% confident that there must be a way to directly link a light's color hue value to a vibrate or user data slider...but HOW? If you need a mental reference, think disco lights flickering to music at random intervals. Any and all help appreciated!
  9. I never felt hassled at all. I actually feel kind of silly that I assumed that it was updated and correct, but that's been many, many months ago. I'm recovering from an injury and was just diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia...so I'm trying to learn everything that I can before I begin to lose all of the things that I've learned. I'm sure it sounds crazy, but C4D is like therapy...which makes you guys my ancillary doctors, if you will. EVERY word you guys give is respected and appreciated. I'll take a look when I get home and if it requires updating, I'll get it done promptly. Thanks again.

  12. Yes, but when I select them both...I'm not able to grab and modify the meshes as a single unit. I'll try to clear out my preferences and maybe I'll get a better result. Now, I just need to find a way to make these interact with user data from pose morphs, and I'll be golden!
  13. When I select the two separate objects that I want to sculpt, all of my sculpting tools are grayed out. I'm looking for a way to sculpt TWO objects with a single stroke. I saw a guy on YouTube do it, but he hasn't responded as of yet, and he doesn't explain how he did it in the video.
  14. Is there a trick that I can employ that will link two different objects so that I can modify BOTH of those objects with the same stroke? I've got a head sculpt that has eyebrows which are going to be animated independent of the head when I remove the "link".
  15. I think that I figured it out with cloner objects! If I place each letter under a cloner, the cloner can use the effectors and the fields!!! Never thought of that before this....but it worked! Thank you SO very much for you time and help!
  16. I appreciate your time. Maybe I can thin down the project to the text only and send it that way. Otherwise, it's a huge freaking file with a boatload of mograph elements.
  17. Could I place the text inside of multiple cloner objects and animate the cloner?
  18. That might work for the text overall, but in order to crag points around to reshape the letters, it appears as though I need to make the text editable.
  19. I'm trying to modify the text shape to mold it into a unique visual moniker and create a multi-color framework around the text via extrusions. Is there a better way to go about this?
  20. Hi all! I'm getting pretty good at sorting the method of getting my mograph, motext to animate with the plain effector, fields and the delay effector. I am having a problem making the text objects "editable" and utilizing a mograph effector. How does one go about getting a "spring in" editable text object to react properly with mograph effectors?
  21. Hi ALL! I'm working on a dynamic simulation involving a cape that is cloth belted to the character's shoulders, but upon animating a new start position, the cape on my character starts with the arm through the cape...and because the start point for the cape needs to retain the starting point, I cannot, for the life of me figure out how to allow that one segment to pass through without keyframing the dynamic cloth object activity. I've attached a photo for reference. Is there a better way? THANK YOU!!!
  22. I'm trying to constrain and object base to the floor while allowing top to move with parent object? Picture a microphone where the base can lean, but not move and the microphone is licked to a null in the hand controller. I've been trying to use a clamp constraint and even used a parenting constraint to lock the base to a null....but it keeps lifting off the floor with the motion of the controlling hand target. Any ideas?
