  3. In the second and final part of this hard surface modelling tutorial, which has a running time of a little more that three hours, we will model the remaining parts of the Roman arch. We will start with the gate, creating the gate frame, the door frame, the ornaments, and some basic hinges, among other things. Then we will create the roof based on some splines we created in part I of the tutorial. Finally, we will make some more spline profiles for modelling the pillars. We will then put the pillars into place and make some final adjustments to some of the components of the Roman arch where necessary.   4. In part one of this hard surface modelling tutorial, which has a running time of just over four hours, we will model the center part of a detailed Roman Arch structure. In the first modelling stage we will break the model apart and create a block-out of the main components of the center part of the Roman arch, adding only some basic detail. Then we will spend some time on spline modelling and create the profiles for the details to be added to the block-out pieces later. In the third and final stage we will use the profiles to add more and more detail to the Roman arch, modify or replace the initial objects.   5. Thanks, Cerbera! I already see what I missed. For some reason it didn't occur to me to put the bevel and correction deformers as children of the Extrude - the only thing I didn't try.
  6. I did try it with the correction deformer and a selection of the four vertical corner edges. Must have done something wrong then, or it is something that maybe cannot be done in R18? Could you please post a screenshot of your object manager? I'd like to find out what I missed. Cheers, contrafibbularities
  7. See the attached screenshot. Is that what you want to achieve? I have tried a number of things, but have not been able to do this with the C4D tools while keeping everything parametric. However, I could use the "Fillet" generator from Merk's Respline plugin to get only the vertical edges chamfered.   10. Today I would like to introduce you to PowerSpline by C4DZone, which is a useful and affordable addition to the set of Cinema 4D standard spline types. PowerSpline comes with a number of default spline shapes that can be edited parametrically and used with the C4D standard tools and generators, like Sweep, Loft, MoSpline, Extrude etc. Amont other things, it can be quite useful for architectural modeling (e.g. for creating doors, windows). One of my favourite features is the Outline option that is available for all of the PowerSpline shapes. Unlike the Cinema 4D counterpart, it is completely parametric and provides a real-time update in the viewport of the outline you create.   11. In this tutorial we create a firewood shed based on a PDF plan. Like in the previous tutorial on building a shed, we will model the object to scale. This shed is much easier than the previous one, but you will need to have a decent basic knowledge of Cinema 4D as I will proceed faster and use shortcuts a lot.
