  1. First question is do you have R20 :) ? You can use Target effector to some extent but you won't be able to target each clone. Two options here. One is not to use cloner and then some Xpresso to solve it, or, do a python effector...
  2. Do you have a solid field in your sound effector?
  3. You can use result node to see what value is coming out from fields node
  4. Simply copy the same field into falloff (fields) node in Xpresso and get the value from it :)
  5. here is a quick and dirty one. In the scene, there is user data setting where you define the count of points which is selection criteria. So, any point count less than what you enter there will be selected in object manager. Do note that effect is continuous and you can disable xpresso tag to stop the script within Xpresso. Hope this helps :) splines.c4d
  6. That looks good, although a bit disturbing :)
  7. Here is a quickie. This might work for you depending on your needs. Idea is that you use mesh deformer to deform original mesh, where approximation mesh is dynamic. I used softbody but you can rig it as rigid body too. Hope that helps :) Right Arm Test_0001.c4d
  8. Please attach a scene file, will be easier to help. One way would be to create receiving rig, or even some ragdoll trickery with mesh deformer, but I don't know how your scene is setup...
  9. Please attach a simplified scene describing the issue, otherwise it is really difficult to help...
  10. This would be easier with scene file. So, you are looking to make abrupt change between texture? You could simply split a part of geometry and texture multiple "mouth meshes" separately. Then if you clone them and create a single clone. by changing offset in cloner you would effectively switch the mouth. Again, I don't know the exact setup or the requirements but this usually works...
  11. Looks like an openGl related artifact. Are your drivers up to date? Is this happening with Turbulence only?
  12. In this lesson we build a clone transfer rig where clone transforms happen in set start end sequence.
  13. With R21 even more easier with new field force, however here is a small example. Must admit I am quite rusty with TP :) TP_change.c4d
  14. That seems like a glitch. Can you reproduce from scratch?
  15. Check our youtube channel, all content is now free :)
  16. You want to use MoSpline since you can combine forces and effectors. Here is a quick example :) primer.c4d
  17. Folks, Cafe is still wip but I hope you all like the idea where we are headed with design and usability. Don't be shy, all input is welcome!
  18. Scene is very heavy and thus difficult to troubleshoot since I am on laptop atm. Currently your cloner is set to render instances. Try using instance mode and cache then to see if that resolves the issue?
  19. There is velocity node you could use, however, maybe what you are after is easier to do with MoGraph. Do you have R20?
  20. You mean this? 19_07_Cloner-inside-cloner_0001.c4d
  21. Hm, hope I understood you well. You could do it with single filed, something like this :) Yes_no.c4d
  22. folks, let's keep this topic civilized, it would be really bad if we had to lock it since we want everyone to express their opinion. Rest assured that this topic is being read . Now, if I was still a freelancer, or a new user, I would be happy. Why? Because when I was buying a license I had to fork out full price, plus distributor fee, plus full month of waiting for box to arrive so from my personal perspective, I would embrace subscription since I could start using the software and making money right of the bat for smaller price. Everyone is leaving most valuable asset from calculation and that is time. If I am saving for perpetual license I am simply not earning with software during that saving time. Sure, my perspective is not universal and is not applicable to others but isn't it as valid? Subscription is simply a business model of today. But there are still perpetual and educational licenses Now, comparisons are drawn between Adobe and MAXON. There is simply no connection there. David worked for Adobe at one point. So what? What if he worked for Microsoft, Oracle, Apple, whoever - would that make a difference? :) There are many reasons to look forward to future. First of all, C4D eco system is simply cheaper to enter now, that is a fact. All logistical changes that are made with making single version, online help system, downloadable product, same buying conditions throughout the world etc will simply speed up development and free resources for more frequent release cycle. With that being said, I fully understand the concerns and specifics which people voiced here, however painting all of us that work for MAXON as bad guys is a bit too much...
  23. I am sure that whatever we post will be awarded with bashing, however, both Igor and me simply don't make MAXON's business decisions, we are part of development team. In that regard we can tell you that even if superficially R21 looks on thinner side, simply try using timeline now and you will notice it has major performance boost. Nobody even mentioned Fields additions with new subfield and mask workflow. Caps and Bevels are much more than name suggests, again, once demo is there check it out... We leave this thread open for anyone to voice their opinion and we certainly didn't censor any of the posts, but it feels quite bad to be Cafe owner now. We did a major overhaul of Cafe and it is completely overshadowed by this topic. There is a lot to look forward to since development gets much more breathing space and can accelerate to a point where all of us want to be, feature and performance wise
